ISTE 10: Chris Lehmann

I have been following the events in Denver with the ISTE Conference. I joined the ISTE Diigo   group and am still receiving some excellent links to the many many sites that were mentioned at the Conference.

More than this I found that there were some excellent videos that had been posted from the sessions. There is one presentation  in particular that I wanted to bring to the attention of my readers in this post.

The main site for all the posted videos is

If you are going to look at just one of the presentations then I can really recommend Chris Lehmann‘s “Beyond Tools- Thoughtful 21st Century School Reform”. The link is:

I first came across Chris after a Twitter link took me to his TedXNYED talk see:

His Slideshare info is:

Chris is very passionate about education and the way that our schools need to change and adapt to the 21st century. He has young children of his own and their education is very important to him.

In the ISTE presentation he did not just talk but he asked important questions and he listened and responded to answers.

I did not manage to get to Denver for the conference but, due to videos and belonging to the Diigo group as well as following the tweets from the back-chanellers at the conference I felt as if I was “virtually there” and I know that there was much that I can learn from the videos and other materials that have come from the conference.

I shall be investigating further but hope that, if you get just one thing from the days of discussion, debate, questioning and information it will be to become acquainted with Chris Lehmann who is certainly an educational leader that America can be proud of.
