April 3, 2009 ~ MLK Jr. in Gandhi’s Footsteps | Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly

This is a powerful but short film. I have used Vodpod to download it onto my site. This the third, and last blog entry about Martin Luther King which I have done to coincide with this Friday’s forthcoming birthdate of both Dr King and myself! I would use this film as a means for students to explore a number of things; Ghandi’s role in Indian history, his influence on MLK and the “non-violence” movement, the way that India has changed since King’s visits (particulalry in reference to nuclear armament) and also the final part of the film where Barak Obama’s Nobel Prize might be considered in the light of his interest in both King and Ghandi as evidenced by their photographs on his office wall when he was a senator.

Vodpod videos no longer available.
